Hon. Albert Nsengiyumva is the Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Rwanda since May, 2011. Previously, Nsengiyumva served as head of Rwanda’s Workforce Development authority, responsible for developing and expanding the country’s technical and vocational education initiatives.
In 1997, Albert Nsengiyumva joined the National University of Rwanda (NUR) in Butare/Huye, where he started the Computer Centre and tutored students in various networking programs. He is also among the pioneers of the Rwanda Development Gateway, a project of the university where he acted as a member of the Steering Committee. While in NUR, Nsengiyumva built the first fiber optic connecting the university.
Albert Nsengiyumva pursued his university studies for three years at the National University of Burundi in the Polytechnics Department. He then joined Saint Laurent Institute of Belgium in 1993, from where he graduated with a degree in Applied Electronics, before moving to the University of Liege, Belgium, for a special program in advanced Industrial Automation.
