David Scheuer, President of Retrovest, has over 35 years of experience in the real estate and construction industry. During this time he has developed several award-winning residential and mixed-use projects. He founded Retrovest in 1978 and has provided leadership to build the Company's reputation for design quality, sustainability, and a willingness to do public-private partnerships.
Currently he serves on the Executive Board of the National Town Builders' Association. Mr. Scheuer has been active in the Urban Land Institute, where he serves on the Public-Private Partnership Council; in addition, he has participated in and chaired numerous ULI Advisory Service Panels relating to University sponsored development, urban infill, real estate asset disposition strategies, and neighborhood redevelopment planning. He served on the Vermont Municipal Land Law Review Commission (2001-03). He is a member of Lambda Alpha, the National Society of Land Economics.
He is a former director of the National Association of Home Builders; a former Board Member of the Preservation Trust of Vermont, the Flynn Theatre for the Performing Arts, the Fund for Vermont's Third Century, Champlain College, and the U.S. Ski Team Education Fund.
David attended the University of Colorado, where he was a 3-time All-American Alpine Skier. From 1973-78 he was a member of the U.S. Ski Team. He did graduate work at the University of Vermont in Resource and Land Economics.
