Henry F. De Sio, Jr. served as deputy assistant to President Barack Obama and he was the 2008 Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Obama for America, building that campaign from a startup in the earliest days into a complex, cutting-edge communications enterprise that earned a historic general election victory. Prior to managing the Obama operation, De Sio was the founder and president of Way Forward Strategies, a firm that promotes leadership excellence, impact communications, and high-performance organization through unrivaled coaching and consulting services. Henry advises Fortune 100 executives, global leaders, electoral candidates, and politicians. His many years in the campaign hothouse have also positioned him as a crisis communications and management expert.
Henry has spent much of the last decade teaching, writing, and speaking on the principles that drive individual and organizational achievement. His work has been the subject of interviews with Radio BBC, National Public Radio, the Financial Times, and numerous other international publications. He has been a television political analyst and sought-after public speaker.
De Sio earned his B.A. in Political Science from U.C. Santa Barbara and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard's Kennedy School, where he worked from 2001 - 2004. Henry currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife and two boys.
