Little Rock attorney John Walker is the owner of John W. Walker, P.A., a general practice operation. Since 1965, he has handled numerous and significant civil rights litigation, including the continuation of the Little Rock School Desegregation case. In 1968, he established one of the first racially integrated law firms in the South. Several of his cases have been heard by the United States Supreme Court.
A native of Hope, Arkansas, he received his B.A. degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, his Masterâ€™s degree in education from New York University, and his law degree from Yale University. He worked as a lawyer-intern with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund in New York and is currently a member of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund Board of Directors.
He is the recipient of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association Warhorse Award and received the National Bar Associationâ€™s Presidential Achievement Award.
