Poore moved to Arkansas in June 2011 to become superintendent of Bentonville Public Schools.  A veteran educator with more than 32 years of experience as a teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, principal, and executive director, Poore has dedicated his life’s work to students.  Including his tenure in Bentonville, Poore has served in top administrative roles over the past 13 years, as deputy superintendent in Colorado Springs, Colorado and as superintendent of Sheridan School District in Denver, Colorado.

Under his leadership in Bentonville, Bentonville Public Schools were recognized for excellence in education. Niche.com ranked Bentonville as the top school district in the state. In addition, Bentonville schools received over $1.2 million in reward money from the Arkansas School Recognition Program in 2015-16.

He is a strong advocate for community service, an active member of the Rotary Club, and a Paul Harris Fellow.  Poore believes in developing future leaders and teachers, and as such, has served on the Arkansas Professional State License Standards Board,
