Warrick Dunn, native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is best known for his extensive career in the National Football League (NFL). Dunn was drafted in 1997 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after playing for the Florida State University Seminoles in college. In addition to the decorated football career, he established the Warrick Dunn Foundation and the Homes for Holidays program. The Homes for Holidays program helps families buy homes with the assistance of Dunn, who provides the down payment for the initial purchase. The Homes for Holidays program buys homes through a down payment provided by Dunn, who also works with area sponsors to furnish and outfit the homes. The program has assisted over 80 single parents in Atlanta, Georgia, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Tampa Bay, Florida. In 2005, Dunn received the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, the NFL's only honor for community service.
