Rich DeMillo is the Director of the Center for 21st Century Universities, as well as a Distinguished Professor of Computing, at Georgia Institute of Technology. He discusses his book "Abelard to Apple: The Fate of American Colleges and Universities," in which he argues that the vast majority of American colleges are clinging to a centuries-old model of higher education and must adapt to new technologies to survive in the modern world.
