Ethan Bronner was tapped to lead the New York Times’ Jerusalem Bureau in early 2008, following four years as the paper’s deputy foreign editor. He was Middle East correspondent for The Boston Globe in the first half of the 1990s and deputy bureau chief for Reuters in the mid-1980s. In his 14 years at the Times he has also been assistant editorial page editor, education editor and national education correspondent. In 2001, Bronner edited a series of stories about al-Qaeda that won the Pulitzer Prize for explanatory journalism.
