After seven years as a correspondent with ABC News, Geoff Morrell left the network to become Pentagon Press Secretary in June 2007. He is the chief spokesman for Defense Secretary Robert Gates and the Department of Defense. Prior to joining the Department of Defense, Mr. Morrell served as a White House correspondent based in ABC’s Washington bureau. He began covering President Bush for the weekend editions of “World News” and “Good Morning America” in April 2003 and over the years has traveled the country with President Bush on Air Force One. Mr. Morrell began his reporting career with KATV, the ABC News affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he covered Bill Clinton's presidential campaign, his transition into the White House, and the first year of President Clinton's administration.
