Blake Mycoskie

Blake Mycoskie is a business entrepreneur who has started a number of successful businesses. Blake created TOMS Shoes in 2006 after a trip to Argentina. Using a unique business model, TOMS Shoes gives one pair of shoes away for every pair bought.

In February 2009 at the Clinton Global Initiative University plenary session, former President Clinton introduced Blake to the audience as “one of the most interesting entrepreneurs (I’ve) ever met.” People magazine featured Blake in its “Heroes Among Us” section, and in the Bill Gates Time magazine article “How to Fix Capitalism,” TOMS Shoes was highlighted.

Since May 2006, Blake Mycoskie, the Chief Shoe Giver at TOMS Shoes, has done a great deal to provide footwear to children in need. Here, he discusses his unique business model and its inspiration. Also, Mr. Mycoskie discusses the importance of social entrepreneurship and charity.
